German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Potsie and his siblings from the Happy Days Litter (Richie, Ralph, Pinkie, Joanie, Chachi, and Fonzie) were rescued from a rural area in Oklahoma. Potsie is a very sweet smart boy that loves to play and cuddle.

Potsie loves to play, his favorite game is fetch, he will walk around the house with a toy in his mouth in an attempt to play with everyone including the cat. He is an energetic boy that loves to play but also enjoys to cuddle and take a nap on the couch. Potsie is very smart and he loves to learn, It took him only a few training session to learn "sit", "come", "kennel", and "outside", we are currently working on "lay", "leave it", and "stay". He is still catching on to kennel and potty training but making great progress every day. Potsie enjoys being around friends, he's a little loud when left alone in his kennel at first but settles down quickly with a bone. He enjoys the company of people, dogs and cats and thinks everyone wants to be his friend.

Potsie's adoption fee is $425, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs.  We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped.
