Meeting the Dogs & The Dog Selection Process:
 
-We are not a shelter, and as such, do not have a single facility where all the available dogs are located. German Shepherd Dogs do not do well in shelter-like environments. All of our dogs live comfortably in foster homes until they are adopted.
-When you are ready to adopt, please apply.
-After submitting an adoption application and being approved, someone from the HUGS Adoption Team will reach out to you to help find an appropriate match for your household.
-We will only schedule a meet and greet for approved applicants who are ready, at that time, to adopt a specific dog (who has been approved as a good match for the household by the HUGS Adoption Team).
-Depending on the circumstances, we may schedule the meet and greet to take place at a neutral location or in your home.
-We do not know in advance whether an application will be approved, or if an applicant will be a good match for a specific dog, or if that specific dog will be available by the time that your application is approved. If you are approved, we will discuss available dogs that might be a good fit at that time.
