German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

The Depp Trial Litter is looking for furever homes! These babies are 50% Aussie, 50% Blue Heeler, 100% cute! These kids are very sweet, active, smart, playful and sociable.

Chewy is a tiny little munchkin with a HUGE personality . He has lots of energy, he is very curious and ingenious, and despite being smaller, he has no trouble keeping up with the bigger, older dogs in his household. Chewy is super smart, and is doing very well with potty training. He sleeps in his crate during the night and squeaks when he wants to go outside. He goes to the back door when he needs to go outside. His foster mom is teaching him to make some noise when he gets there! Chewy likes to investigate things. He will need a secure fence, and people who are careful to close the gates. Chewy is still a tiny little guy who enjoys cuddles. He is easy to train, and he watches everything his foster mom and foster siblings do and then he imitates it, which is great- and sometimes not so great! Chewy loves water and one of his favorite things is splashing through the kiddie pool and drinking water from the hose. He loves food puzzle toys. When he's hungry he stands by his crate and waits, because that's where he is fed. He figured that out in one day! Chewy is the sweetest boy, and he would be a great family dog for an active home who has experience with the breed. He would also be a good candidate for someone who likes to compete with their dogs.

Like any of our dogs, this beautiful puppy would make a great addition to an active home that will provide the love, structure, good leadership, activity and mental stimulation that his breed needs. Because of that, Chewy's ideal owner will have prior GSD or other herding breed experience, and a friendly dog buddy for Chewy. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills, and manners.

Chewy's adoption fee is $395, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped.
