German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Brandy is a sweet, gorgeous, active 3.5 year-old girl. This gorgeous girl came to us from rural Missouri, where she had become the victim of a divorce. When her parent's relationship fell apart, so did the care that she was receiving. Brandy's most basic needs were not being met and she became skinny and looked undernourished.

Brandy quickly thrived in her awesome foster home. She is as sweet, fun, and engaging girl. With some minimal guidance, she is great with people and other dogs. Brandy she loves to go places with her humans. She loves her walks, loves to be petted, and she is a fabulous, fun sidekick, who will provide years of companionship, fun, and shared adventures, to a very lucky adopter!
